Following recent government guidance FabLab Sunderland will be significantly reducing activities to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Commercial activities continue with staff working remotely. We will only open the lab in connection with projects we consider essential within the context on the current crisis.
Please note that we will only produce medical and protective equipment if approached by a recognised medical or social care organisation. We are aware of several 3D printing projects to help produce safety equipment, but this equipment has not been requested by those who would need it. We are ready to help when needed but only when needed. Until then we will stay at home or help by volunteering. We strongly suggest you do the same.
Student teaching and assessment has been moved online. We can help with information but no more at the moment. We hope to allow access for personal project at a later date for current students who are missing out on this access before graduation.
Please email us if you have any questions.
